I used to wonder what friendship could be

firewishing:

This is from a park in Qiqihar. There was a pipe under the water pouring a disturbing smelling and looking water into the lake. You could also see a lot of trash, dead fish, and dead turtles. I saw several people just throw their plastic waste (like gloves) in the water over the half hour I was there. Man, pollution SUCKS!

Qiqihar > Lima > Boston.

I’ve decided you own a place if you pick up all the trash there— seems like a better method than planting a flag.

If I had been born and had to work in Liberia, my dreams would scare me too!
But if anyone can handle that mess, it’s this lady, and it’s nice to see some solid politicians once in a while.

I don’t really see myself as being alive for any of those.  *scratches head*

says the kid who lives eats breathes and SHITS stories lol

gundams, anime, slendys, etc.  every story ever.  every little piece of art, ever.  that’s what he’s talking about.  games, too, although they’re def not my medium. :P  p sure this is from “the world according to garp” - his character in this is an author, and he’s arguing for the arts/humanities in general, here.

No, this is from “Dead Poet’s Society”, which is awesome, and definitely worth re-watching.

I’d never heard of this “World According to Garp” movie, though, I’ll’ve to check that out.

which i agree with, at least on a personal level.  i dunno if it’s true for everyone, but it’s true for me.

There’re beautiful, romantic, and lovely songs, poems, and plays about medicine, law, and engineering— and there’re certain implementation concerns regarding poetry, beauty, romance, and love. It’s rare that I find myself rejecting anything truly significant to so many humans as irrelevant, but it’s then that I understand where false dichotomies come from and why some people fail to integrate passion with practicality.

Burning Heart: Dear Militant Vegans

Which option is the most ethical?

a diet that consists mostly of produce that was produced with the help of slave labor, that funds corporations such as Monsanto, and that travels thousands of miles to get to…

And this is exactly why one should eat a vegan diet if he or she is lucky enough to be able to— because it changes what stores stock. Meat spoils quickly and is inefficient to produce, and as our population increases it becomes more important to find efficient and sustainable methods of producing food.

Of course, I extract the same guilty enjoyment from eating non-algae foods that I do from non-train transportation, at this point, but let’s pretend the future’s coming a little sooner than it actually is in case something goes wrong.
